Ever since my first experience with Shu Uemura Fresh Cleansing Oil many years ago, I've been an avid cleansing oil fan, particularly when used for removing makeup. My loyalty to that oil lasted through several large bottles before curiosity finally got the best of me. With blogger after blogger singing the praises of the One Love Organics Active Moisture Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover and my new found interest in natural and organic brands, it was inevitable that I'd end up jumping on the bandwagon.
The One Love Organics Active Moisture Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover is more viscous than the Shu Uemura Fresh Cleansing Oil, and as a result, the risk of losing product due to it seeping between your fingers into the sink before your hands are able to reach your face is significantly decreased. I massage two pumps of the oil over my dry face and neck before incorporating a bit of water into the mix to emulsify it. All traces of makeup dissolve on contact, with the slight exception of only waterproof mascara. I find that it removes waterproof formulas satisfactorily, just not with quite the same ease as the Shu.
What makes this oil different is that it contains papain, a fruit enzyme present in papaya that provides gentle exfoliation, and vitamin B to detoxify and tone the skin. It's a hydrating formula that never strips the skin, nor does it leave behind any residue that could clog pores. Unlike other cleansing oils, I actually enjoy using the Active Moisture Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover for cleansing as well. I often reach for it when I have no makeup to remove, simply because I love how soft and content it leaves my skin. I think all skin types, from dry to oily, will fall in love with this formula all the same.
Hands down, my favorite part about this oil? The scent of fresh, juicy pineapple.
