The Drop-Everything-And-Paint Polishes.

I guess these could also be dubbed my favorite polishes of recent months because regardless of what I already have on my nails, if I read a blog post, watch a Youtube video or so much as see a tweet or instagram photo mentioning either of these shades, that's it - I drop everything and paint.
Nails Inc. Baker Street (left) and Porchester Square

Baker Street is a striking cobalt blue that I lusted after for an abnormally long amount time before finally caving and purchasing it. It's one of those shades that I get tons of compliments on every time I wear it, which I can completely understand, because even now that it's in my possession, any time I see someone else wearing it, I think, "Damn, that's a beautiful polish!" It has that effect on people.

Porchester Square is a more recent addition to my nail polish collection, and I opted for the Gel Effect formulation, just to see what it was all about. The pale, taupey-grey with a hint of lilac is just so....chic. And the formula? In one word - beautiful. I'm able to go about 6 to 7 days without any chipping or tip wear, and the finish is unimaginably smooth and glossy, even without a top coat.

Needless to say, both Baker Street and Porchester Square get my stamp of approval. What are your drop-everything-and-paint polishes?

  1. Hi Tiffany,

I love the contrast between Baker St. and Porchester Square! They both look beautiful and wearable in their own way :)

  2. WOW! Both of those are gorgeous. I'm amazed at Porchester Square because it doesn't look...washed out? That family of beige/taupes can be tricky but Nails Inc really got this one right.

  3. Regardless of its similarity to Chanel Frenzy I absolutely, positively need Porchester Square. It's such a perfect and fresh take on neutral polish.

And I couldn't agree more about Baker Street. There is just something about the color that draws people in.

  6. I have and love Baker Street. You should also try it on the toes - best pedicure shade EVER, especially in a bubble bath. :D

I've been resisting the Porchester one but you've convinced me it needs a swatch test at the nail bar!

  9. Porchester Square had been on my wishlist for a while, and now that the gel version is available I think I will go ahead and get it on my next trip to Sephora! I have Chanel's Frenzy but I think this shade might be a tad bit cooler. Can I ask you if you topped this polish off with a regular top coat?

  10. Thanks, Dovey! They're definitely very different, but I love them both :)

  12. You definitely need Porchester Square, Jessica! I don't have Frenzy to compare, but I can't imagine anyone not love PS :)

  13. I only got into blue polishes in the past year or so (they previously reminded me of something middle school-aged girls would wear), but I feel like the right blue can look amazing! Glad you like both shades :)

  14. Ooo, good idea! I haven't tried it on my toes yet :) And yes, please just swatch Porchester Square. One of my faves for sure!

  15. Aww, I'm sorry Chloe...I'm not sure if and where they're available in Australia either. Hopefully you can get your hands on one (or two) of the shades you want soon though. The gel effect formula is especially amazing :)

  16. I just googled Neo-Whimsical - it looks like a super pretty pink! I don't blame you for it being your drop everything and paint shade :)

  17. I did just for good measure, but it was nearly just as shiny before I applied the top coat as well. The gel effect formula is noticeably smoother and shinier compared to the regular formula, in my opinion. Hope that helps!

  20. I'm wearing Porchester Square at the moment! I can understand all the hype around this polish now, it's so chic! But the weather in my city is still so warm that I feel it could be better in colder months, pairing with cozy sweaters :)
My drop-everything-and-paint polish is OPI Roadhouse Blues. I always had been looking for a creme navy polish, so since I have owned it, I often reach for it. I consider it an elegant dark polish that compliments every outfit and lipstick!

  25. I just googled Roadhouse Blues and I can see why you like it so much! Very chic :) I like that it's dark but not so dark that it appears black.

Glad you like Porchester Square too! :D

  26. Ooo, I'm always a fan of a good coral :D

  27. No, seriously, Catherine....you really do need it! It's such an amazing shade! Haven't tried Let's Get Dirty though, so I can't compare :-/

  28. Joyce! Do it! Let me know what you think :)

  29. Yeshhhhhhhh hahaha no nail polish in months! It just chips on me no matter what I use so I just gave up.

  30. Yikes :-/ What top coat were you using?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've tried a few and all the same, which do you use?

  32. CND Super Shiney Top Coat, which is pretty good. I've started using Good to Go Top Coat and it was really great (lots of shine and my polish lasted a long time), but I've only used it once so far so we'll see. The Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (in the red bottle) is really good too.
