The Monday Post #1

Monday is by far the gloomiest day of the week for me, followed by Sunday simply because it precedes Monday. Hopefully, The Monday Post will give you some beauty inspiration and help you get through the week!

Favorite beauty read/viewing: Dovey from Cute and Mundane reviewed several of the new Make Up For Ever Artisan brushes that will be available starting this month, and the luxe, dark wooden handles are seriously making me drool. The Precision Crease Brush (#214) is calling my name...

Beauty goal: I'm really going to try to force myself to take my makeup off right when I get home from work. I usually wait until right before I go to bed to remove it, and at that point, I'm so exhausted that I find myself lying around, unable to go to sleep because I still have my makeup on, but yet too lazy to go take it off. Lose-lose situation.

Product Rediscovery: I uncovered the Bare Minerals Ready Luminizer in the Love Affair at the bottom of my daily makeup bin yesterday, and after dusting some on to the tops of my cheeks, I was reminded of how utterly amazing highlighter can be. This rose gold one deserves more love from me.

Beauty lust: Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour in Burnished Copper. Watch Sandra's video and you'll understand why.

Most looking forward to: Thursday! My boyfriend is coming to visit and we're going to the coast this weekend!

Hope you all have a great week!

  1. I have the same beauty goal! I need to start removing my makeup right after wake (aka right after I put my kids to bed). I have been too lazy and tired to do a proper skin care job when I get to bed. Enjoy your weekend at the coast! There is nothing like time away with the one you love :)

  2. I've been re-discovering goodies from my own stash too! I've always been good at removing makeup because clogged pores lead to breakouts for me. At my age when fine lines are popping up, I'd hate to add zits into the equation. HAHAHAHA!

  4. Hi Tiffany,

Thank you so much for the link love --- what a wonderful surprise! (I'm hoping to play around with a few more of the brushes as well when they make it to stores).

  6. I used to have the same problem until I started using Bioderma! It's just such a no-brainer. Wipe off as much as I can while decompressing on the counch, and then cleanse my face properly with a cleanser before going to bed. Have fun with the boyfriend!

  7. I like this Monday post :-) I totally agree with you about removing makeup. If I'm even just lounging around in makeup I feel suddenly away that I am wearing it and can't relax, lol. I've been skipping base recently and just applying the RMS cover-up wear needed, I feel like it's a better skin option.

  12. Love your makeup goal of trying to remove your makeup right away after you get home! I've been trying to get better about this as well so fingers crossed for both of us :-)

  13. Thanks, Alison! I can't wait! And surprisingly, I was always able to force myself to go through my whole skincare routine once I was out of bed...the hard part was actually just getting out of bed to begin with, haha. I'm working on it!

  14. Oohh, yeah, I definitely NEVER sleep with my makeup on, but I definitely end up wearing it longer than I need to (for example, continuing to wear it at home when I'm doing nothing at the end of the day) simply due to laziness with taking it off :-/ I'm trying to get better at it though!

  18. Bioderma doesn't remove my waterproof mascara D: I do like it, but I feel like I have to use so much of it (and cotton pads) to get all of my face makeup off. Maybe I wear too much makeup! Hahaha

  19. Thanks, Taylor! Ooo, have you reviewed RMS cover-up before? I'll skim through your blog to check! Sounds like a great product :)

  22. Oh no it doesn't! I don't use waterproof mascara that often anymore though, so I'm fine with it!
