I'm usually quite anti-New Year's resolutions. I just find resolutions like 'I'm going to go to the gym everyday' or 'no more ice cream' are ridiculously impossible for me to keep. I prefer resolutions that will transition into long-term self-improvements, not ones that simply mask themselves as drastic, but temporary, changes.
I've made a few self-improvement type of resolutions this year that I won't bore you with, but this is also the first year I will officially be making beauty-related resolutions as well:
1. Drink (much) more water. Period.
2. Invest more in quality products and significantly less in 'cheap and cheerful' ones that I'll never use again....although, those are fun every now and again too ;)
3. Shift some of the focus of my beauty lens a tiny bit away from makeup and onto skincare. There is no foundation like gorgeous skin.
And that's it, really! Hopefully, with only 3 resolutions to focus on this year, I'll be able to keep them up. Either way, you know I'll keep you guys updated along the way ;)
Do you like to make New Year' resolutions? If so, what are they this year?

You can do it!! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! I need to drink much more water too ;(
ReplyDeleteYou got this! I love setting new goals for myself. I think he keeps me going and seeing what I can accomplish :)
ReplyDeleteTons of water has been a resolution I've kept. I drink almost too much of it! In turn, your skin will thank you. Another good tip for good skin is less dairy! You should try it - there was a significant difference in my skin when I cut out cheese and milk, so crazy! Happy New Year doll ! Xoxox
ReplyDeleteK
I really like 3, it's a good idea for most people.
ReplyDeleteMy resolutions are more bucket list-ish for example get my driving license, buy a Polaroid camera and learn conversational Italian. All things I can reasonably do and achieve, their more about focus.
These look very similar to my own. Let's do our best! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great resolutions! I love the skincare one too, more water and better care will get you to that amazing skin!
ReplyDeletei just posted my goals for 2013 too - juliefromchicago.blogspot.com
love them all, esp number 3!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove these. I think one of mine should be to wash my brushes on a slightly more regular basis and maybe buy a few more of the brushes I use constantly so that this is a realistic goal. x
ReplyDeleteI love your resolution to drink more water. I grew up hearing "8-10 glasses a day," then was told 1 gallon a day, then read 1/2 oz per lb of body weight. But I never feel (or look!) better than when I consistently drink 1 gallon a day.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you with all of your resolutions. I definitely need to follow 3!
ReplyDeletehere here!! i definitely need to drink more water .. i find that 'spicing' it up by adding sprits of lemon or making ice teas helps. and as silly as it sounds .. investing in a pretty drink bottle that i can put in my bag has forced me to drink more. good luck =)
ReplyDeleteI applaud your three resolutions. I myself am thinking of improving things I do, as I don't feel there is much to 'resolve'. Skincare is going to be huge this year, I can't wear much make up at school and hence I'm going to focus on skincare too. I need to spend less on make up bits too, need to consider where the extra saved could go towards in the future! Great post, appreciate you sharing these goals.
ReplyDeleteMy dear,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog by chance, while peeking
others and I decided to check it out! I’m glad I did it, because I am really delighted with yours. It's beautiful,
well structured, interesting… and it has completely got me hooked. I think
we're going to get along just fine! ;) I'd like to invite you to meet my space
as well and I hope you'll have as much fun as I am having in yours!
I wish you
lots of success
kisses

those are very smart resolutions! good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteHi ! I love your blog ! :) I'm so glad to hear you're going to focus more on skin care, there's nothing like being able to focus your makeup on making it part of your outfit instead of having to put all attention on using it to cover stuff up ! One of my areas of expertise is guiding people to which types of makeup, hair care and skin care can be causing breakouts, and what to do about breakouts once you get them. Any way I can help you, I'd love to keep in touch ! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Daniela! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Aida :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Sharlynn! So far, I've been enjoying shifting the focus onto skincare :)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteIt was about time I did! I regret not doing it sooner, to be honest. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! 1 gallon? I think I'll have to work my way up to your level :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals as well, Julie! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to us both! :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Louisa! I'll be jealous of your Polaroid camera! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Miranda :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Aly! The water thing is definitely a work in progress, especially since I'm not used to drinking a lot of water throughout the day :-/
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!!
