Fall Lip Stain of the Moment.

I love deep berry lips for fall just as much as the next person, but sometimes they can be a bit difficult to wear during the day and quite frankly, a little too high-maintenance for me, especially if I need to use lip liner and/or bust out a lip brush in order for the application not to make me look like the Joker.

What I much prefer doing most days, if I feel like wearing a darker lip, is dotting the lipstick onto my top and bottom lips and blending it in with my ring finger. Working it into the lips helps to create a stain, especially when using a highly pigmented lipstick, that not only lasts for hours upon hours and is much more wearable during the day, but there is close to no transfer outside of the lip lines whatsoever since there is hardly any product sitting on top of the lips. This method of application, if you would even call it that, requires no time, no liner, no brush, and no skill or precision whatsoever, which is probably why I love it so much :)

These two lipsticks have been and will continue to be my go-to lip colors this fall:
MAC Lipsticks in Rebel (top) and Media

Using Rebel on its own yields a stain that is quite a bit pinker than you would expect, so I like to add a bit of Media blended on top to make the overall color a bit deeper and....berrier (?). I've also used Media as a stain on its own, and it's beautiful and perfect for fall.

What are some of your go-to lip colors this fall?

  1. I think this looks really pretty on you! :-) I'm so lazy with reapplying lipstick, so this might be a good method for me!

  2. Those two shades are gorgeous! I see why rebel is sooo wearable! It reminds me a bit of a shade from topshop I picked up!

  3. Wow, Rebel looks so pink on you! But yeah if you sheered it out it can look so different. I love both shades from Mac, they are the perfect colours for fall! Pretty <3

  4. Lovely color on you! I got Bite Beauty Mulberry and I think it's similar to MAC Rebel. Will look gorgeous for subtle everyday or sparkle holiday

Media is one of my autumn favorites, and I wear it just as you do. The color is way too overwhelming for daytime looks.

    I love your sweater!

  6. Thank you, Jessica! <3

  7. I agree! I love how versatile colors like these can be since you can wear it sheerly as a stain or opaquely when applied straight from the bullet or with a lip brush :)

  8. Thank you, Teri :) I was also surprised how Rebel seems to lose all of its purpley tones once I apply it sheerly on myself...but I still love it!

  9. Ooo! I always wanted to try Topshop makeup!

  10. You should definitely give it a try, Aly!

  11. Oooh pretty!! I'm loving both of these shades! Bummer that the MAC formula is too drying on me in general!

  12. I own a tube of Rebel but Media has intrigued me now! Love the idea of mixing these too - welcome back Tiffany!

  13. Media looks so lovely! I have to pick it up!
