Mini haul alert!
If you guys read my last post, you'll know that I fell head over heels in love with the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in the shade Rendezvous, so it should come as no surprise that I picked up a few more shades! I went with Cherish, a bubblegum pink, and Darling, a wearable lilac shade.
Cherish (left) and Darling
Cherish has medium pigmentation but is very buildable, much like Rendezvous, while Darling is a bit more on the sheerer side and can only really be built up to medium-ish coverage on the lips. On my pigmented lips, the rosiness of my lips still peeks through. And the stain that I'm left with from Darling seems to be pinker than the initial color immediately after application, almost as if the lilac tones have worn off. Still very pretty though! And just like Rendezvous, these are really moisturizing and comfortable to wear, and the stain looks very natural and not flakey or dry at all :)
Ever since I picked up my first two Burberry eyeshadows in the shades Pale Barley and Almond and become more or less obsessed with them, I've been wanting another. The choice of shade was an easy one, as it's a much hyped about eyeshadow, and Midnight Brown was quickly added to my collection. It's a gorgeous, rich brown with subtle, illuminating shimmer throughout. The texture and formula is soft, but never powdery, and it applies ridiculously smoothly and has extraordinary staying power for a powder shadow, much like Pale Barley and Almond. I was not disappointed in the least. I'm thinking Rosewood may have to be next....thoughts??
Midnight Brown
I actually purchased the Smashbox Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in the shade Topaz a few weeks ago, but I figured I'd include it in this post since I haven't blogged about it yet. It's basically the Smashbox version of the MAC Paint Pots. Topaz is a beige with a touch of taupe, and it has a metallic finish. When I apply it to my lids using my ring finger and blend it out, the color appears much sheerer than what is shown in the swatch below. I find that it has better lasting power than MAC Paint Pots, although the consistency and the way it applies is pretty much exactly the same. I really like it so far, and I've been enjoying using it as an all-over lid shade and as a base - it looks especially nice when used under Burberry Pale Barley!

I recently asked people on twitter what foundation primer they suggested for oily skin, and MrsLisaP recommended the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Oil Free to me. After getting a sample from Sephora and giving it a try, I found that basically, it was awesome. I've only used it a handful of times, so I can't give it a true review just yet, but on the days when I've used it just on my t-zone, as the rest of my face is suffering from abnormal dry patches at the moment, it has helped my foundation to last much longer without breaking down due to the oils on my face, and I can go significantly longer without needing to blot. I obviously then ran out and purchased it :) Win!
And when I purchased the primer, I noticed that Sephora actually had a decent 100-point perk for once, and it's something that I've been curious to try for a while now too, so I'm extra excited! What do you guys think of Origins GinZing Eye Cream?
Have you guys tried any of these products? If so, how do you like them?

Ooh so many pretty things! I wish the Revlon lip products would hurry on over to the uk already! Hehe xoxo

Gosh, I really want to try out those Revlon pencils! I heard ppl already raving about them! Lovely es from Burberry too!
ReplyDeleteAwesome haul! I like the look of Topaz, and am lusting over Pale Barley but am trying to use up similar shades in my collection first. Don't know how well that is going to last, though ;P
ReplyDeleteGreat haul! I seriously love everything you got! I'm obsessed w/ Pale Barley as well & Midnight Brown looks like such a pretty smokey brown color to pair with it! I've been wearing Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit, which is pretty similar to Topaz, under it as well. Love the look :)

ReplyDeleteThe LM oil free primer is my favorite!! it does not really help with pores but i love that it's water based and feels light! im on tube number 3 or something! but 2 were those samples but they were 1 fl oz so it took forever to finish!
I was not a fan of ginzing.. .:/
Nice haul! I really want to try the Revlon balm stains. I think I'll try Rendezvous first, and then pick up a few more colors later. :)

I'll definitely try! :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, good luck! :) I have MAC Patina, which is similar to Pale Barley, but I still *had* to get Pale Barley....and I'm glad I did! It's so much prettier than Patina, in my opinion :D
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I don't have any of the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows?! I had a sample of RSVP once and it creased on me, so I gave it away. Everyone loves them so much, though, that I'm so tempted to give them another try!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm glad you like it too :D
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to using the primer more....it made a really good first impression on me! I think it's only a matter of time before I add Rosewood to my collection :) And can I ask why you didn't like GinZing?
ReplyDeleteYes, you should definitely give them a try!
ReplyDeleteBoth of those shades of Revlon's stains need to find their way into my possession! and stat! I love them, super pretty. I'm not a dark lip tip of person, and Ive been hearing raves about these products!
ReplyDeleteso excited when you said 'darling' is a wearable lilac - so hard to find ones that are not too cool toned.
ReplyDeletei've tried the LM primer and while I like it, I tend to only use it for special occasions/events. It's funny though bc on my tube it said it had 6 month expiry date... couldn't imaging finishing it within that time.
I love the Laura Mercier Primer! I use it, too. In fact, I always use it with any kind of look. Whether it be pale or heavy make up. I always use it! Thanks for this post! You have very expressive eyes by the way.
ReplyDeleteThose Revlon balm stains look so exciting. Drugstore thrills!
ReplyDeleteFinally picked up Midnight Brown and Pale Barley (my hubby shuddered at the price)! I love that it lived up to expectations..so pigmented and blendable!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Origins eye cream! I've used it for a year now :) I absolutely adore what you've shown of the Burberry shadow--might have to put that on my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog! I'd love for you to give mine a look, it is just getting started- http://staybeautifulfashionbeauty.blogspot.com
Your eye look is goooooorgeous. Can't wait to try one of the Revlon Just Bittens.... my local CVS constantly sells out of popular stuff so it may take a minute for me to get my hands on one. (Ps. I'm having a blogaversary giveaway, I hope you can stop by!)
ReplyDeleteYup, Darling is definitely not too cool toned. I know what you mean, though. Most lilac shades tend to be that way! I have a feeling my LM primer will last me a really long time too :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so worth it! Glad you got it and like it too :)
