I made it (!!), although not without a few troubles:
Relocation Woes
I was naive/stupid and thought that it'd be okay to throw my perfumes into my bag of lipsticks, which I brought in the car with me instead of shipping it. I was wrong. Marc Jacobs decided it wanted to make its mark on my lipstick collection by dumping nearly half of its contents into the bag...it's still a touchy subject for me
-_-
Nearly all of my lipstick cases are melted and ruined from the alcohol from the perfume, the actual lipsticks were all wet with perfume, and perfume also got deep inside the bullets under the actual lipsticks. Here they all are, drying off...I'm hoping the perfume will eventually evaporate out from inside the bullets. (P.S. Then, this morning, when my mom decided she wanted to pick one up to look at it, all of the others got knocked off and fell to the carpet. I almost cried.)
This is what Marc Jacobs did to my limited edition MAC Ever Hip lipstick :(
And now onto the Relocation Smiles :)
I'm in love with my new dresser with matching mirror...it's new to me, anyway ;) I scored it for only $70 off of Craigslist!
Green thumb alert: meet my first plant :D Isn't he cute?
And a more literal smile:
Face:
MUFE F&B foundation in #20
Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette
Dior Sculpt Lifting Smoothing Concealer in 002 Beige
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand
Benefit Hoola
Milani blush in Luminoso
Lips:
Carmex tinted lip balm in Pink
Eyes:
Sephora Jumbo Eye Pencil in Taupe (lid)
MAC e/s in Hocus Pocus (outer corner)
Milani Liquif'Eye pencil in Black
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
Three things:
1. To my old followers, thanks so much for hanging in there!
2. To my new followers, hello!
3. I hope you all have a fabulous day :)

Oh the lipstick carnage.. I love your plant though!
ReplyDeleteWe would typically say that Marc Jacobs can do no wrong, but in this case, shame on him!! Well, technically, shame on his perfume bottle! ;-P Hope you are able to salvage what's left of your lipsticks. We understand...we'd be crushed too.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, YAY for the smiles! I used to have a plant like that. I named him Pedro (I have a habit of nicknaming EVERYTHING)...but the key word there was "used to". I have a lil bit of a black thumb. Pedro's no longer with us. :( Good luck with yours though. Here's to hoping that the rest of your relocation goes smoothly.
BTW, we're following your blog & we'd love for you to visit ours sometime. Drop us a comment if you do! We'd love to have you as a follower!!

Oh no.. that's even worse than leaving a tube of lipstick in your car on a hot day! Anyway, cute dresser!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it there all in one piece! My heart literally fell when I read about your lipsticks on Twitter..I would die. So sad, especially Ever Hip! :(( On a positive note: I LOVE your dresser. What a steal! And your wee plant is so cute! Really like your top as well, you look great! Hope the rest of your settling in goes well.
ReplyDeleteoh man that is so annoying! if that happened to me i would always be giving my marc jacobs a side eye. you look lovely as always though! xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your lipsticks! I would have cried.
ReplyDeleteAww congrats on the move! Although it sucks about the lipsticks, especially ever hip!
ReplyDeleteyour blush looks absolutely GORGEOUS i wish i could get my hands on it !
hope your relocation gets better (:
x leah (:
I had a similar experience while relocating..I know how annoying this can be..half of my perfumes were 'lost' as well cause of the shipping company! I think I cried for like 3 days.. :( Have a nice start at your new place!x
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your lipsticks. I almost don't feel sorry for your perfume at the moment lol. I had no idea it could result to all of that. :( Also, your plant and the new lighting is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteomg.... Im so sorry about your lipsticks!!! Damn that marc jacob's perfum must have been so strong :( Aww Im sure your lippies are still useable Tiff :(
ReplyDeleteoh no!!! my heart is aching with you! i hope that there still are useable lipsticks left. if you don't want to look at the ugly melted casings anymore, what about melting them into a palette? japonesque make beautiful ones!
ReplyDeleteOh no!!! That's so sad about your lipsticks :( It's kinda scary when you think about the fact that perfume will melt a lipstick case, and yet we put it on our skin every day! I love that dresser!
ReplyDeleteAhh!! I'm sorry that the alcohol melted the lipsticks...That really stinks. :( Don't worry though! As long as you can still use them, it's still good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on moving!
&& the plant really is cute. LOL
So sorry to hear about your lipsticks girl! I do wish that Ever Hip l/s would've sticked around longer so you can buy it again. Also the Viva Glam VI SE l/s is hard to find and hopefully that you find it from someone that is either selling it or going to sell it.
ReplyDeleteEeeek moving can be difficult, especially with a precious makeup collection. I posted about packing and moving with a makeup collection (http://powerfemme.blogspot.com/2011/07/how-to-pack-your-makeup-collection-for.html)- I am so sorry about your traveling woes!!!
ReplyDeleteReally cute makeup and great lipstick collection! x
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post:) Love your smile in the end!
ReplyDeleteThat's too bad that happened to your lipsticks! What an "FML" moment! I hope you're not too mad at your mom, haha! Does this mean Marc Jacobs perfumes will forever be taboo in your books?
ReplyDeleteoh no! I'm so sorry that happened - i hope the rest of your move in goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteoh no! you poor thing!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! I'm so sorry :( I think I'd cry if that happened to my stash. Can I donate my unused backup of MAC Hibiscus to you or something? I owe discovering Milani Luminoso to you, after all. I'm so glad you're smiling in the end!
ReplyDeleteOh god no ... what a nightmare! I'm so sorry: moving is definitely not without it's challenges, is it? When I moved to France to go to school I was dumb and put my makeup bag *IN* my luggage (why?) I opened it and just about every powder product was shattered. I sympathize! On the bright side ... now you get to make a sleek, Lisa Eldridge style lipstick palette?
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
FOTD, plant and dresser all super cute! Sad about the lippies! I am crossing my fingers they will all dry nicely and be just as great as before!
ReplyDeleteOh mama mia! That just blows monkey balls! I feel for you... :( I'm a lipstick junkie and that hurts me reading this! I do hope you can save your babies! That dresser looks super cute and not a bad deal! Have a great week! ^_^
ReplyDeleteomg, i feel so sorry for you, i would have been crying for days!
ReplyDeletelove your dresser though!!
Grace xx
that sucks about your lipsticks :( I would be upset too- on another note, awesome score on the dresser! Craigslist is amazing for furniture- I got all of my furniture for college off of there for really cheap!
ReplyDeleteAww sorry about your lippies Tiffany! Hope they're all okay, but Ever Hip doesn't look too bad, it's just the packaging! Consider them battle scars ;P Glad your move is going well, your plant is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThat blows about your lipsticks! :(
ReplyDeleteHopefully they will be fine lol.
Nice dresser! <3
I'm following you!
Btw follow my blog if you haven't yet and if you can my twitter too! (Viva_La_Breee)

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear about your lipsticks. I've done the same thing, but with an oil makeup remover and it spilled in the ziploc bag with the rest of my eye shadows and it got really nasty. It still hurts whenever I think about it lol.
ReplyDeleteOn the lighter side, that's a really cool dresser. I can't believe you only got it for $70. Gotta love Craigslist!
Oh noo~ hopefully all your lippies are ok! Glad your move went well though. ^^ Your plant is so cute~ definitely can make a new place into a "home". :]
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you ended this on a high note, because that was going to be the SADDEST POST EVER! The Ever Hip lipstick! The lipsticks drying in a row! That bastard Marc Jacobs perfume. :P Also, I know I'm a dork because when I read "Marc Jacobs decided it wanted to make its mark" I thought two things: 1) make it's MARC! and 2) I LOVE a girl who knows the difference between "its" and "it's"! :D
ReplyDeletehearbreak for the lippies T.T but on the plus side ur vanity is pretty nice ^^
ReplyDeleteoh nooo so sorry to hear about your lippies.. Hope you get them back and working in no time =P
ReplyDeleteLoove your new dresser.. Very pretty!
I am in love with your dressing table, it looks really classy! adore your makeup it looks flawless and stunning xx
ReplyDeleteOoooooh no :( your poor lippies, i'm so sorry!! But that dresser is STUNNING! What a steal!! Love the plant too haha looks like an alien...but a cute alien ;)
ReplyDeleteHannah xo
I would've bawled my eyes out over the lipsticks, I had no idea perfume could do that :( I also probably would've cried or screamed over the lipsticks falling on the carpet, but more because I'd be freaking about staining the carpet.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd say this about, but it IS cute :D and pretty FOTD!
well all i can say is and what you should have said tiffany or maybe you did it already but here it is''BAD PERFUME.BAD PERFUME.GO TO HELL YOU LITTLE MONSTER.WHAT DID MY LIPSTICKS EVER DO TO YOU?They didn't do anything to you so why must you act like a jerk?Huh why?Think you're a tough guy?If you wanted to die why victimise the innocent lipsticks who still wanted to live.I hate you,you MONSTER.''
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA.Think i got carried away.i can't imagine that ever happening to my own slowly growing collection of lipsticks which i all adore.they're my babies and they're not even mac. Most are from Avon but still they're good quality.have you tried avon lipsticks before?for the price you pay they're awesome. But if it happened to me and it was from Mac i don't kno what i would have done.i'll probably jump off a cliff.lol.anyway try to forget it happened.life's too short to worry just be happy =D.
That really does suck, but good for you for focusing on the happier things (dresser, and well smiling in general :])
ReplyDeleteHopefully they do air out eventually *fingers crossed*
Sorry to hear about your lipsticks!! :( But your dresser is so pretty!! And I love your plant! He needs a name!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, me too! He's such an interesting looking little guy, isn't he? :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love the name Pedro for a plant :) I've named mine Igor and I can only hope he doesn't share the same fate as Pedro!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Devastation doesn't even begin to explain how I felt when I first discovered what had happened. And thank you about the dresser :D
ReplyDeleteThanks so much - everything else has been going great so far :)
ReplyDeleteOhhh, you better believe I side-eyed it! LOL! And thank you so much :)
ReplyDeleteI almost did...haha
ReplyDeleteThank you, Leah! Luminoso is one of my favorite blushes ever, let alone from the drugstore! It's a shame Milani isn't more readily available :(
ReplyDeleteOh no! So they were never able to find your perfumes? I'm not as much of a perfume person, but I can imagine that would be very devastating :(
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I had no idea perfume could do all of this either :( The worst part is, I don't even like the Marc Jacobs perfume that much anymore!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too...I *think* most of them will be okay, fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about it, but I'm not a lip brush person and I hate that I wouldn't be able to just throw whatever lipstick I'm wearing that day into my purse for on-the-go touch-ups...we'll see if I need to depot them in the end. I'll look into the japonesque ones if I do! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? There's so much alcohol in them. And thank you! I love it too :D
ReplyDeleteThank you - I named him Igor, hehe :D
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping I'm still able to salvage Ever Hip, although I'll have to depot it either way. I laid Viva Glam VI SE out to dry with the others, but as of right now, there's so much perfume in there that I can't even twist the lipstick up, so I don't have very high hopes for that one :( Oh well.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay - everything else has been going great so far so I can't complain too much I guess! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annabelle!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
ReplyDeleteI was upset at first, but I wasn't mad at her because I knew it was an accident after all...I was just frustrated. And yes about the MJ perfumes! In all honesty, I didn't even like that perfume that much anymore! I should've gotten rid of it when I stopped using it and this would've never happened...oh well, what's done is done :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly! It's going really well so far, besides the lipstick mishap!
ReplyDeleteAt least it wasn't my blushes or bronzers! I really would've cried, I think!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, you don't need to do that at all, but thank you so much for offering - that is INCREDIBLY sweet of you, Sarah! I'm so glad you like Luminoso too! Isn't it gorgeous? Such an amazing drugstore find :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I can't believe that happened! I would've been even *more* devastated if my powder blushes and/or bronzers had shattered...I can't bear to think of it, actually. And yeah, I might have to make a sleek, Lisa Eldridge type of palette...I really don't want to though since I'm not much of a lip palette type of person :-/
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping so too! I'm loving Igor (my plant)! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth! I have a feeling most of my lipsticks will turn out okay after being laid out to dry for a few days...fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great find! I love the style and for that price, I couldn't believe my luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yu! And I think I'm going to have to depot Ever Hip but it's better than having to toss it altogether, right?
ReplyDeleteThanks, I love the dresser too!
ReplyDeleteOh no o_0 That sounds terrible! I actually think that might actually be worse than my lipstick situation! :-/
ReplyDeleteI agree! I've never had a plant in any of my apartments before but so far, Igor (my new plant) is making my place feel much more homey :)
ReplyDeleteYay! I try :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love it too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm hoping my lipsticks make it out alive too ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks! I named him Igor :D
ReplyDeleteYeah, there was a little bit of staining going on...damn that red lipstick! I used some nail polish remover, though, and it seemed to take all of the lipstick stains out of the carpet pretty much, so that's good.
ReplyDeleteAnd about the plant, I know, right?! I named him Igor :D
HAHAHA!!! You're too funny :D I responded in a similar fashion, hehe! I keep trying to remind myself that it's just makeup, after all :) And no, I've never tried Avon lipsticks...can you order online or do you have to find an Avon rep to order from? It always seems like such a hassle.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I *think* most of them will turn out fine after being laid out to dry for a few days...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kayleigh - I named him Igor :D
ReplyDeleteahh the poor lipsticks :( and so many pretty colours as well! but you still look pretty cheerful :) you have a beautiful smile!
ReplyDeletei just found your blog btw, it's lovely! you have a new follower :)xwardrobe-wishes.blogspot.com
Thank you so much for your kind words, Xiyin! x
ReplyDeleteWell i do try my best to be funny.=D. also i just wanted to make you smile since your lipsticks and that bad perfume brought a frown on your face.haha
ReplyDeleteI adore your shirt, so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteLove * Sofia
