I picked up the Wet n Wild eyeshadow trio in Walking on Eggshells last week and as I was admiring how pretty the brown crease shade was, I couldn't help but notice its seemingly striking resemblance to NARS Fez, a shade I have from the Pleasures of Paris palette.
After I opened up my NARS palette to compare the two side-by-side, however, I was like, 'Whoa.' (I never claimed to have a high level of vocabulary ;)
Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells (left) and NARS Pleasures of Paris
Don't the pink, brown, and white shades in the NARS palette look surprisingly similar to the shades in the Wet n Wild palette?
Left to right:
WnW 'Eyelid' shade
NARS Nepal
WnW 'Crease' shade
NARS Fez
WnW 'Browbone' shade
NARS Abyssinia
While the pairs of shimmery, beigey pink shades and warm, shimmery brown shades aren't exactly the same, the two pearly white, highlight shades are basically dupes.
I have yet to actually use the WnW trio on my lids but based on swatches, all 3 shades are buttery smooth and fantastically pigmented. I doubt those qualities won't transfer when the product is put to use, but I'll keep you posted just in case :)
I find that the NARS shadows always look a lot nicer when used on the lids than in swatches, for some odd reason. They're not as soft as the WnW shadows, which is why you may be able to notice that the NARS swatches aren't as fluid towards the bottom of the swatch.
Anyway, if you always wanted half of the NARS Pleasures of Paris palette (hey, you never know), then I'd highly recommend checking out this Wet n Wild trio for only $3!

Wow, that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOMG there is so much sexy going on in this post!
ReplyDeleteoh very nice comparison!!!! i dont own any of the WnW trio's just the singles! Nutty is an awesome taupe! I missed Pleasures of palette so maybe this is a nice alternative! thanks for the comparison again!
ReplyDeleteI agree!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! I have Nutty too and I also really like it :)
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing :) Thanks for sharingxx
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison!! And for pretty much $1/shadow...that's such a steal! :]
ReplyDeleteI have that WnW trio and love it, so awesome to see the dupes!!! The Gilded Age trio is my new favorite, the gold in it is to die for! :-)
ReplyDeletecertainly close enough!
ReplyDeleteWhoa that is INSANE! lol I wonder if they are from the same manufacturing plant or something. It's amazing how many drugstore and high end things are made right next to each other lol
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this is WnW?! It reminds me of Urban Decay, it's so rich? I'll have to check it out now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great comparison! I kinda regret returning Fez now, it looks so pretty on your swatches BUT now I can get the WnW trio and not feel so bad about it yay! :)
ReplyDeletewow, that is a pretty uncanny dupe! I have always kind of wanted that NARS palette..but now I know I can get 1/2 of it for 2-3 bucks...there's no need! :)
ReplyDeleteAll of the Wet and Wild trios are gorgeous. Surprisingly very good pigment and lasting quality! I have Silent Treatment (FAV!), Spoiled Brat, and Knock on Wood.
ReplyDeleteI have the Walking on Eggshells palette too! I love it! <3 I also love the fact that every color in that palette can either be worn by itself or all together. It's such a nice combination of colors in one tiny palette. ;)
ReplyDeletethats amazing !!! I did want that WnW palette but didn't know if it was going to show.
ReplyDeletewow, that's amazing!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good reviews about this trio- and with this comparison... I NEED IT NOW :)
ReplyDeleteThese are really great dupes. Definitely looking out for this palette. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNo problem :)
ReplyDeleteI know, right? The WnW trios are such a great deal :)
ReplyDeleteI've seen swatches of that one and I agree - it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too :)
ReplyDeleteI know! I wonder too. Or maybe everyone has just agreed that pink and brown with a pearl highlighter looks good together, LOL :)
ReplyDeleteYes! It's super rich and buttery!
ReplyDeleteFez is pretty but honestly, the WnW brown shade is close enough, in my opinion :) And I vaguely recall someone on YT saying that Fez is similar to Mulch.
ReplyDeleteYup! Now, but if you want the *other* half of the palette, though...
ReplyDeleteI love Silent Treatment too!!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I love the combination of shades in this palette...I can't wait to use it!
ReplyDeleteIt DEFINITELY shows!! All 3 shades are super pigmented :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Krystal!
ReplyDeleteYup, pick it up...what do you have to lose except for $3 in the off chance you don't like it :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem!
ReplyDeleteI want this so bad!
ReplyDeleteI NEEEED to get my hands on this when I go to america!
xx
that's mad how similar they are. Definitely a bargain alternative to the NARS palette. Wish I could get a hold of the brand where I live :/
ReplyDeleteAhh I was about to buy Nepal on its own! Now it looks like I won't have to. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm am increasingly impressed at the quality of WnW shades :) Great swatches -
ReplyDelete<3 Sidd
I don't have any of the Wet n' Wild palettes but now I will definitely have to go pick up a few!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://beaute-naturellement.blogspot.com/
men how i wish wet n wild make up are availble here in ireland unfortunately for me it's not...... what annoys me is the fact i can easily afford to buy it what 3 dollars? that's nothing but i can't... so unfair but do enjoy your palette. i'm totes jealous of you.
ReplyDeleteIts not fair they dont sell it in the uk, i've seen so may of their eye palettes reviewed and they look amazing! x
ReplyDeleteWow, great comparisons! That WnW trio looks lovely, I wish it was easier to get hold of in the UK. xx
ReplyDeleteThese are the typical colors I use for day makeup ...I kind of love that it's by Wet n Wild. Superfab!
ReplyDeleteI love the shade!
ReplyDeleteYes, you do! :D
ReplyDeleteI know...it's always so frustrating when certain brands aren't widely available :(
ReplyDeleteNo problem! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too...I really like the Silent Treatment palette too. And thank you :)
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should - they're such a bargain!
ReplyDeleteAww, I'm sorry it's not available over there! Maybe try setting up a swap with someone?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure a lot of people in the US feel the same away about the Sleek palettes over there ;)
ReplyDeleteI know, it's a shame the brand isn't available in the UK too :(
ReplyDeleteMe too - it's such a great everyday, neutral palette :)
ReplyDeleteWhich one do you like? I love them all too :)
ReplyDeleteIt's particle size; softness and pigmentation aren't everything. The more finely the pigment has been milled (which is a trademark of some expensive products), the more manipulable it will be during application. I like the WnW Color Icon shadows, but the coarser pigment yields less complexity and polish.
ReplyDeleteoooh love the dupes girl! I don't have any of those NARS shades so for a couple of bucks I think I can do with the WnW trio! GREAT find girlie!
ReplyDeleteWow, they're all beautiful colors! I love the pink colors the best! xoxoxoo
ReplyDeleteHuh? The WnW shadows are the ones that are softer and apply more smoothly than the NARS.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThe pinks are gorgesous! I think the browns are my favorite in these 2 palettes :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say Walking on Eggshells is my go-to eyeshadow palette. It's also sleek for travelling :)
ReplyDeleteI love how the WnW shades look so much more pigmented than the NARS ones :D
