Throwing in the Towel.

After a torturous 2+ months, I've decided to accept defeat and throw in the towel in regards to Project 10 Pan. Having only finished 3 makeup products in 2 months, I did the math and if I continued to use up products at the same snail's pace, it'd take me another 4+ months to actually complete P10P - talk about a daunting thought!

I'm starting graduate school in August and as any student would know, STUDENT = POOR. Especially since it's an accelerated, year-around program and I won't have the time to work at all (when I say poor, I mean poor!), I don't anticipate having the luxury of splurging on Chanel or Dior makeup or doing much hauling in my few years there, and if my poor student status is going to put me on a sort of automatic makeup spending ban anyway, there's certainly no need to deprive myself now, right? Hence, my decision. Buy now, ban later! ;D

I picked up a few drugstore bits the other day that I had been wanting to pick up for ages but couldn't.
Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette (First thoughts are that it's AMAZING!)
Sally Hansen Barracuda (So pretty! Slightly darker on the nails after 2 coats than it appears in the bottle.)
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Sand (First thoughts are that I definitely prefer this to my MAC MSFN...much better oil-control!)
Covergirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara (I loved how L'Oreal Voluminous made my lashes look, but I couldn't deal with the smudging! So happy to be back to this one.)

I also placed a tiny, tiny Sephora order that I'm super excited for, but I'll show you guys that stuff when it comes next week. Yay!

  3. Oo, Danielle suggested the Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette to me for an upcoming CP - glad to hear you like it! & I'm adding Dream Matte to my list of powders to try after I'm done with my MSFN! It's not holding up as well in sweaty weather..

Good to know you're back in action! P10P is an unwieldy beast ;D

  6. I totally agree with the buy now, ban later ;D Especially if you're going to be a student again soon - it's depressing living on a student salary :( Might as well treat yourself while you can!

  7. Ooo I'm glad you said that about the Maybelline Dream Mousse Matte powder, I've been having issues with my MSFN making me oily - it usually doesn't! Thanks Tiffany, congrats on grad school - I'm starting too in October! :)

  9. I have been looking for a nail polish that color..I need to go see Barracuda for myself! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the concealer palette after you've used it a while! It looks great! I always love Lashblast and I really like the dream matte powder too.

I just did a hefty Sephora haul myself. I needed that Too Faced perk, dammit! :)

  10. Totally understand your reasons for quitting P10P for the time being! I was totally in awe of you doing it in the first place- especially going full force and doing 10 products.
I sure hope you're planning on reviewing the concealer palette. It looks amazing! :)

  11. I can't blame you! It's got to be frustrating with not using up products very fast. Plus, it will be fun to indulge a little bit before you have to stave off. I can't wait to see the goodies you bring us over the summer! Props on sticking with it even when it might have been hard :)

  14. LOL you lasted longer than i though you would =p i recently brought my first house and so i totally understand what it feels like to be poor >.< not being able to splurge on luxury items anymore (gosh i miss living with my parents) but having said that, while my spending habits have changed, it's funny what i have been willing to sacrifice for a new dior lipstick.

  16. I've never done a beauty ban since I'm sure I'd end up doing the same thing you've done :P Best of luck in graduate school!

  18. Is it bad to say I'm SO EXCITED that you gave up Project 10 Pan?? haha! Now we can go back to enabling each other, just as it should be! ;)

  19. Well done for lasting so long - I don't think I could ever do it as it takes me forever to use up products! Being busying with studying and not having much spare cash seems to help curb spending though...
Love the nail polish colour. x

  20. I don't blame you at all, I think you actually made a really great sensible decision. I haven't even really tried P10P because I know I'd be horrible at it XD

  23. Tiffany-What shade are you in the matte dream powder? I think I read somewhere you posting that you're a 118 in MUFE HD, yeah? I'm that color as well and am looking for some cheaper products because I'm so fickle with makeup!!

  24. @Yu: Thank you so much! Congrats to you as well on grad school. What are you going for?

    @Steph: I will definitely review it! :)

@Faye: Congrats on buying your first house! That's an amazing accomplishment! :D

@dontcallmejessie: Haha, no, not bad at all! I feel the same way - yay for enabling! ;)

@Aranza: Good luck with applying to med school! I'm going to pharmacy school :)

@Hollie Ann: My shade is Sand or Medium 0-1 :) And I don't think I have my MUFE HD sample anymore but yeah, I'm pretty sure it was #118.
