Coral Love.

Coral is one of those colors that just immediately reminds you of Spring and Summer and since the weather has been gorgeous in Southern California lately (very Spring-like), it's no surprise that my love for coral makeup has recently been re-ignited.

Clockwise from bottom left:
MAC Cream Colour Base in Virgin Isle
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Tipsy
MAC Highlight Powder in Marine Life (LE)
Korres Lip Butter in Mango
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Papaya
MAC Lipglass in Perennial High Style (LE)
Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Fairytale
Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Genial (LE)

L to R:
MAC Cream Colour Base in Virgin Isle
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Tipsy
MAC Highlight Powder in Marine Life
Korres Lip Butter in Mango
Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Genial
Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Fairytale
MAC Lipglass in Perennial High Style
Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Papaya

Virgin Isle and Marine Life are bright corals that work amazingly to brighten up a dull complexion during the Spring and look gorgeous on more tanned skin in the Summer. In comparison, Tipsy is a peachier, more subdued coral that is equally as beautiful.

Mango is one of the more pigmented Lip Butters I've tested and the color actually translates a fair amount onto your lips. It's perfect for when your lips need a little hydration but also want a little color.

Genial and Fairytale are fairly similar, with the main differences being that Genial is much brighter and Fairytale is a bit darker and redder.

Perennial High Style is a gorgeous pinky-peachy-coral that goes with almost any look, while Papaya is a bright coral that is perfect when you want a statement coral lip...kind of. You know, when you're not quite ready to commit to a bright, opaque coral lipstick but still want in on some of that coral action? Papaya is the coral for you.

What are your favorite coral makeup products?

  5. I wish I had Marine Life, but I do not unfortunately. I do like Milani's Mai Tai blush, which is a coral too. Rock and Republic's Immoral is nice too, more of a bright peach-coral. I am all over peachy-corals lately it seems.

  12. I feel the same. As soon as it starts to get brighter, dusky mauvey tones get pushed aside, & corals, peaches & oranges are whipped out!

A year ago I would have thought the Korres Mango would be too bright for me & would have stuck to a nuder shade (Jasmine) but I'll have to put it on my to buy list! Does it look peachy on the lips?

  14. I have all of these but one - we are coral loving twins! These shades definitely make up the majority of my make up collection, they're just so easy to wear and really perk up the complexion.

    Thanks for the great post!

  24. @H: I wouldn't say peachy. It's brighter and more orange than that on the lips. It pretty looks on the lips exactly like it does in that swatch...maybe a tad more sheer :)

@The Beauty Bite: Really?! That's so funny! I'm trying to think of which one it is that you don't have...perhaps the Cover Girl lipstick?
