Introducing my lipgloss collection:
I kind of just threw them all out onto the table without any rhyme or reason (unlike my lipstick collection post) and quickly snapped some photos. I'm not including any swatches in this post because honestly, I've probably swatched at least 80% of them at some point in time in one of my other posts and a lot of times when you swatch lipglosses, they can have a tendency to all look really similar on your skin.

I don't know what an acceptable or "normal" amount of lipglosses is for one pair of lips, but I can say for certain that I have far too many for me. In an attempt to put an end to the madness that is me continually buying more lipglosses that I a)don't need and b)will never use up, I've decided to put myself on a self-imposed ban: GLOSS-OUT 2011!
Because I'd like to set myself up for success, instead of completely going cold turkey on this one, I've decided to allow myself to purchase only five lipglosses for all of 2011. Wish me luck! I'm definitely going to need it!

Ahaaa! I was shocked cos I thought that was MY collection for a minute.. I have ridiculous amount too- but they're so tempting to buy!

ReplyDeleteI love how they all look shiny and new :-) I have just as many but whats worse is I don't even wear it! I put it on sometimes and cant stand the feeling of it and just wipe it off! I still cant stop buying them! Theyre so shiny and nice lol! x

I tend to hoard glosses too (don't we all)!
ReplyDeleteI think it's because I've always regarded glosses as a "less expensive than the blush ..." option when new collections come out so I buy them without guilt. I then look in my drawer only to discover that I have enough gloss to beautify an army!

ReplyDeleteSelf-imposed makeup bans are so popular these days! I find that a monthly limit is a very helpful way to gradually wean myself off. Good luck with your goal!

That is an impressively HUGE collection of lipgloss.. and my mother complained i spent too much money on cosmetics, she'll probably have a spasm if she sees your lipgloss collection alone. You do have great taste and colour. All the shades are fantastic! Ahahaha I feel so overwhelmed looking at your lipgloss collection. Youre totally my idol!

I'm the same! I always buy lots of glosses, don't get a chance to use them properly and then they go gloopy :( I also love that you have a really wide range of shades, most of mine are just light pink and look exactly the same! xx

ReplyDeleteI think I have the same problem as you - my lipgloss compartment is filled with way too many glosses and I doubt I'll ever use them up.
Tried to do a 2011 ban and guess what? I saw the Christmas Benefit gloss collection (6 colours in 3 wands) were on sale and since I don't own any Benefit glossess...it was a situation I HAD to rectify. Harumph.
