Feeling iffy...

I got a haircut today and I'm feeling pretty iffy about it.

It's a little bit shorter than I was expecting but my main issue is that there are barely any layers in it! My hair looks huge in the first "After" picture! Maybe it'll look better after I style it myself tomorrow...

And the only thing that's different make-wise between the before and after pictures is that I'm wearing MAC l/s in Angel in the "Before" and MAC l/s in Creme d' Nude in the "After".

This huge chocolate/caramel covered apple made me feel much better!

(You can't really tell but it's a little bit bigger than a softball...YUM!)

Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Brownie

I've recently rediscovered my Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Brownie. I bought this about four years ago and have been in love with it ever since.  I'm actually pretty surprised I don't own more of them!

Shimmerbricks each have five strips of color that can be used individually or swirled together.  They can be used as a blush or swept over blush to illuminate it.  Since Brownie is one of the darker Shimmerbricks, I've only used it in place of a blush because I think it gives off quite a bit of color on its own. I've also found that I am able to use  the colors individually as eyeshadows, and I love beauty products that can multitask! The five strips in Brownie consist of pinks, mauves, and a reddish brown (all of which are shimmery, of course!).

FOTD: Birds and Berries

Today's FOTD is an easy smokey eye using MAC e/s in Birds and Berries from the Give Me Liberty of London collection.  For the lips I decided to keep it neutral with a pinky nude lipstick but the natural pink color of my lips makes the lipstick look darker and pinker than it really is. Now onto the look!

FOTD: Green Eyes

Today's FOTD is a green eye look using mostly the Maybelline Eye Studio quad in Green with Envy.  This is the only quad I have by Maybelline and I have to say, I'm quite impressed.  Especially when used over a base or eye primer, these eyeshadows have really good pigmentation.  All four shades have a decent amount of shimmer in them and they work really nicely together.  Quads like these are great for travel because they have all the shades you need to create a beautiful eye look.  Now onto the look!

Red Lips!

Today is all about the red lips! I love red lips...they're so sexy and classic at the same time. My everyday makeup looks are generally pretty subdued, but I really wish I had more occasions to rock a red lip!

The first red lip is Rimmel Lasting Finish l/s in Temptation.  It's pretty opaque and has a nice shine to it. I also have lined my lips with Nars l/l in Jungle Red. The only thing I don't really like about this l/s is the scent. Cherries, I think? It's just so strong! It does fade after putting in on, though. My teeth look so white!

The second red lip is MAC l/s in Lady Bug. It's a lustre formula so it's perfect when you want a red lip but you don't want it to look too harsh or made-up. I find the color to be pretty buildable as well. This is how it looks with not quite 2 coats.

MAC lipstick in Gel

Gel was my first MAC lipstick ever and I bought it to layer under MAC lustreglass in Decorated to match my wine colored Winter Formal dress (very matchy matchy, I know). It's a frost lipstick that is described as "sheer metallic beige." When I bought Decorated at 17, I felt like it was a little too vampy for me and the MAC make-up artist suggest I try Gel underneath...and the rest is history! 

The only problem I have with Gel is that I don't find it wearable on its own. I know some people do but it's just not my taste. It's just too frosty...it is a Frost after all! I pretty much only wear it when layering:

There was a lot of hype around this collection and for good reason.  The packaging is beautiful, in my opinion.  Some found it to be a little juvenile, but I thought it looked artsy and perfect for spring.  I had enough self-control to only pick up 3 things from this collection, including: Ever Hip l/s, Shell Pearl Beauty Powder, and Birds and Berries e/s.  Also from MAC but not this collection, I picked up Love Nectar Lustreglass.  I got it because I love the color and subtle shimmer, but it also looks great over Ever Hip.
