What's in my Travel Makeup Bag.

I am away from home at the moment and won't be back until after Thanksgiving (all of this week's posts included photos I took before I left) and obviously I couldn't take all of my makeup with me while I was away, so I decided to show you what I included in my travel makeup bag. Before I left I made a mental note of products I thought a complete travel makeup kit should include:

I'm fully aware that I brought far too many products with me but keep in mind, I'm going to be away for a total of 2 weeks, so I wanted to be sure that I'd have makeup to suit any occasion and mood I may be in :)

In addition to my makeup products, I brought my Sigma Makeup brush roll complete with a variety of my favorite Sigma, MAC, and Sonia Kashuk brushes, tweezers, pencil sharpener, and my trusty Shu Uemura eyelash curler.

I'm sure since this post is entitled "What's in my Travel Makeup Bag," you may very well be expecting me to show you my travel makeup bag, right? Well, that's not going to happen, I'm afraid, because the Estee Lauder bag I use (I randomly got it for free when I visited my CCO one time) is close to hideous. Sorry to disappoint!

If and when you travel, what's in your makeup bag?

  6. Good choices for travelling. I would to bring neutrals and a few colored e/s & bold lipsticks "just in case" too hehe. I usually go out of town to where my cousins are at. I normally bring more b/c they like to play w my makeup.

I would like to see your makeup collection! You have a lot to me already. Youre always posting great stuff. Im still a newbie to collecting. Im kinda scared to buy too many lipstick & blushes since they expire. Do you think it's ok if keep them longer? I store them in a dark cold place *dresser drawers* I mean I just started collecting 1 1/2 ago.

  8. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to travel in quite some time (other than camping) so I don't even know what I should take when I travel! So thank you for this post, it gave me ideas on what to take when I do get a chance to leave town :-)

  11. @Jennifer: I will try :)

@PrincessLisax3: I'll try to do a makeup collection post soon :) I've only started buying lipsticks recently as well, so none of mine are older than 1 year anyway. To be honest, rather than chucking lipsticks and lipglosses after the "expiration date", I think I'd just go by the consistency and smell...if it still looks and smells normal to me, I'll probably still use it. As for blushes, are you talking about powder or cream blushes? Because I know powder products can be kept around for quite a long time. As for cream blushes, I'd probably go by the smell and consistency too, rather than blindly adhering to the expiration date. Keep in mind, though, I'm definitely not an expert...it's really just my opinion :)

@Nik: No problem :) Glad you were able to get some ideas from it!

@Nicole: You can still get it from NARS' website!

@Alluring Bath & Beauty: Thank you so much Corrine!
